Katy Perry: Glee’s “Teenage Dream” Cover Made Me Cry

Katy's a Gleek!

Fox's mega-smash Glee can now add Katy Perry to their legions of celeb fans, as the singer has offered her stamp of approval for the show's upcoming "Teenage Dream" cover.

"This just brought a sweet tear to my eye!" the singer Twittered after seeing the routine set to air on Tuesday's show. "'Teenage Dream' on GLEE makes my heart go WEEEEE!" (Watch a clip above)

Part of the episode titled "Never Been Kissed," the a capella cover of Perry's hit is belted out by Glee newcomer Darren Criss, who plays Blaine, an openly gay singer from a rival glee club.

While details of the remainder of Criss' storyline — and his interaction with Chris Colfer's gay character, Kurt — are being kept secret, Colfer says fans are in for a big surprise.

"It's so big that we had a full meeting about it that we can't say anything," Colfer tells TV Guide. "That's never happened before. I will say it's about Kurt."

Could the actor be teasing a same-sex kiss?

"Maybe. It leads you to believe that…but maybe something else happens that's even bigger," he tells TV Guide. "Don't let the title lead you the wrong way. The title of the episode has nothing to do with Kurt."

Glee airs Tuesday at 8 p.m. (EST) on Fox.
