The “Firework” singer showcased her Hyped for Halftime promo video on Sunday, Nov. 23, as her official status as halftime performer was confirmed by the NFL. In the video, Perry emerges dressed in pink and blue overalls and a horned pink racing helmet, to introduce us to her halftime show-testing facility.

In a James Bond-style video, Perry explains they’re testing a load of ideas for the much-anticipated performance, including a few that might not make the final cut.

“I’ve got some insane ideas,” she says, with a straight and serious face. “Like what if we covered the whole stadium in glitter, but the glitter was edible?”

She then shows fans around her state-of-the-art bunker, complete with a robot drum-solo machine, a stable housing a unicorn she “found online,” even crash test dummies riding fire-breathing sharks. Not that anything gets the thumbs up from Perry.

“It just doesn’t feel dangerous enough,” she says to her technician.

Perry’s confirmation as Super Bowl halftime entertainment follows months of rumors about whether the “This Is How We Do” singer, or other performers such as Coldplay and Rihanna would get the coveted gig.

She joins an impressive list of past Super Bowl performers, including Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beyonce, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Tina Turner, and The Rolling Stones.

“This halftime show is going to be crazy,” the singer promised in the first teaser for the high-profile show. “I’ve got my time machine bringing in my very special guest, my dancers, kittens….” she added.

According to the NFL press release, Perry will be teasing the performance again in the run up to the Super Bowl XLIX.
