Kim Kardashian Reveals Why She Decided to ‘Talk S–t’ About Taylor Swift in ‘GQ’

Baby, now we’ve got bad blood! Like a few other people this week (ahem, Calvin Harris), Kim Kardashian goes in on Taylor Swift in a preview for the Sunday, July 17, episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

The reality TV superstar, 35, tells her older sister, Kourtney, why she decided to “talk s–t” about the “Shake It Off” singer, 26, in defense of husband Kanye West during her recent interview with GQ.

“I never talk s–t about anyone publicly, especially in interviews. But I was just like, I had so had it,” the Selfish author says in the clip above. “I just felt like I wanted to defend him in it because it’s like, she legitimately quote says, ‘As soon as I get on that Grammy red carpet I’m gonna tell all the press. Like I was in on it.'”

As previously reported, Kim alleged to the men’s magazine that Swift knew about West’s controversial lyrics for “Famous,” in which he raps: “I feel like me and Taylor still might have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous.” Kim claimed that Swift even gave her blessing in a recorded phone conversation, but the pop star’s rep denied the story. According to her rep, Swift wasn’t made aware of the specific lyric until it was released in February during a listening party for Yeezy’s latest album, The Life of Pablo.

In response, Swift made a dig at West during her 2016 Grammys acceptance speech when she won Album of the Year for 1989. “I want to say to all the young women out there — there are going to be people along the way who are going to try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame,” she sniped.

Seemingly confused, Kourtney asks Kim in the preview: “And she just doesn’t like the reaction?”

“And you know, just another way to play the victim. It definitely got her a lot of attention the first time,” Kim responds, referencing West’s infamous stage-crashing incident with Swift at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

“I feel like I’ve had it with people blatantly treating my husband a certain way, making him look a certain way,” she continues in a confessional. “Kanye is always so honest and speaks his mind. And you know, when we were first dating, people would always talk s–t and he always had my back. At this point, I really don’t give a f–k, so I’ll do whatever to protect my husband.”

“I’m so glad that you said the truth,” Kourtney tells Kim, to which the outspoken E! personality says, “Yeah, I’m just speaking the truth.”

Perhaps making their friendship even more fraught, West used Swift’s likeness in the accompanying visual for “Famous,” in which he and a wax figure of the “Blank Space” singer sleep naked in bed along with several other celebrities including Kim, Ray J, Amber Rose, Rihanna and Chris Brown, among others. Swift has yet to acknowledge the NSFW video.

Watch the dramatic preview above. Keeping Up With the Kardashians airs on E! Sundays at 9 p.m. ET.
