Kimberley Locke: Crystal, Casey, and Aaron “Did Not Work For Me” on Idol

Kimberley Locke came in third place on the second season of American Idol (behind Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard). Since then, she's appeared on Celebrity Fit Club, and released a new single, Strobe Light, a collaboration with Randy Jackson, on April 6.

I was excited to see two of my favorites on the show tonight: Harry Connick Jr. and Frank Sinatra. I wasn't sure if these contestants could do this genre justice and, in my opinion, only two of them did: Big Mike and Lee.

I have always been a fan of Big Mike and tonight I became a fan of Lee. I have always loved Lee's voice, but I wasn't sure about his personality and ability to make me feel. His voice is bluesy, gravely, raspy — all the things that I enjoy, and tonight his song choice allowed him to showcase all of that and then some. His personality really came through; he looked like he was having fun and in his element. He really shined Tuesday night and had a great vibe going on. I think we will hear Lee sing this song many more times in the future, and he should definitely do it on the tour.

As for Big Mike, I couldn't wait to hear him sing because I knew he was going to do well. Big Mike is a seasoned performer and it shows. He knows how to deliver the emotions behind a song. I felt he was singing to me, and I was sitting on the couch with my hair in a pony tail and all sweaty! That's what this competition is all about.

As for Crystal, Casey, and Aaron… they all looked fantastic, but their performances didn't do it for me. Aaron appeared to be really tense and uncomfortable. Casey was out of his element. I also have to agree with Kara about the vibrato in his voice — it was bad. But I will say this: he looked really HOT! For that reason, I am sure he will be around for another week. Crystal looked stunning in that gown and appeared really comfortable on the stage and with the genre, but her performance tonight did nothing for me this week even though "Summer Wind" is one of my favorite Sinatra songs.

If I have to pick who's going home next week, I'd say it will be Aaron. I think it will come down between Big Mike and Lee on the finale.
