Six weeks into first-time parenthood, Giuliana and Bill Rancic are learning as they go when it comes to caring for their newborn Edward Duke Rancic.
Born August 29 via gestational surrogate, the couple’s son has been catered to by his over-the-moon parents since his birth — but prior to his arrival, Giuliana and Bill had quite a tough time finding a nanny to help lessen their load.
On Tuesday’s all-new episode of Giuliana and Bill, the duo interview a handful of baby nurses to help serve as a nanny for their newborn. But as this clip (filmed before their surrogate went into labor) proves, hiring someone to look after their pride and joy is easier said than done.
“You look like you work on Fifth Avenue in New York,” Giuliana, 37, says when meeting Amy, a stylish Orange County, Calif., nurse who has worked with children for the past three years. Opening up about her background, Amy surprises the couple with a few of her go-to tips and tricks.
“Kids have always liked me and I was raised by a nanny. Telling a kid ‘no’ is how it feels love. Let it cry it out,” says Amy, before telling the couple a story about how she put alcohol on one infant charge’s teeth to alleviate teething pain during a long flight.
When the nurse leaves, Giuliana and Bill assess her chances of caring for Edward Duke. “That was not a baby nurse,” argues Giuliana, “That was [like] Fatal Attraction!”
Giuliana and Bill airs Tuesday at 8 p.m. (EST) on STYLE.
