The episode centers on Teri and Gusty Graham, who were in high school when they decided to give their son Taylor up for adoption 24 years ago. They later got married and now have four more children.

The couple had been exchanging letters back and forth with Taylor’s adoptive parents for years until the communication suddenly stopped. Worried that tragedy may have struck, Teri and Gusty enlisted the TLC series’ help in locating Taylor.

“I think I told Teri, if they don’t find him, I think it’s almost better sometimes because then we don’t know,” Gusty says to host Chris Jacobs. “Because what if we do find out that he doesn’t want to see us? There’s always that possibility of him not wanting to have anything to do with us.”
