The Love Actually kid is actually kind of hot! Thirteen years after Thomas Brodie-Sangster starred opposite Liam Neeson in the star-studded British rom-com classic Love Actually, the now 25-year-old hasn’t aged a bit. Spotted promoting his Maze Runner 2 at San Diego’s Comic-Con, the hunky former child star is a grown-up version of that little boy who melted our hearts running after Joanna (Olivia Olson) in that famous airport scene.
Though he’s since added roles on Game of Thrones (as Jojen Reed), Phineas and Ferb (voice of Ferb), and The Maze Runner (Newt) to his resume, London-born Brodie-Sangster still fondly remembers Love Actually, which was his feature film debut. “It’s still something that I hold close to my heart, even though it comes up all the time,” the actor told Interview magazine last year. “People are only ever nice about it.”
The second cousin (once removed) of Hugh Grant, Brodie-Sangster has kept himself in front of the cameras, but when he’s not working, the L.A. transplant is just like Us! “I hang out at home a lot, I just enjoy being home. Home comforts, just love music and to relax with my friends and my family, my girlfriend, and I like to restore motorbikes. I have a motorbike I am restoring at the moment,” Brodie-Sangster, who dates Isabella Melling, told Cover Media in 2014.
When he does go out, Love Actually fans are often everywhere. “I don’t know why, but there will be one night I go out and it’s just kind of non-stop, and I don’t know why that is. Other nights, it’s absolutely nothing,” he said of fan interaction. “It’s a funny one, but it’s something that you just got to have to learn to deal with. I mean it still stems from Love Actually and that was 12 years ago so I kind of learned how grow up and deal with it more now.”
