It’s like that, y’all. Mariah Carey and her rumored love Bryan Tanaka share a secret handshake after reuniting on her Sweet, Sweet Fantasy Tour in a preview for the Sunday, December 11, episode of Mariah’s World.
In the clip above, Tanaka, 33, visits the pop diva’s dressing room before they hit the stage. When Carey lays her eyes on the backup dancer and choreographer, she immediately flashes a big, bright smile and gives him a warm embrace.
“So much has happened. Congratulations on your engagement,” Tanaka says after the duo’s hug. (At the time of filming, the superstar was still engaged to billionaire businessman James Packer.)
“Oh, thank you,” Carey replies.
Tanaka then tells the Grammy winner that her 5-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe — whom she shares with ex-husband Nick Cannon — “are beautiful,” to which Carey says, “You’ve gotta meet the twins!”
After a few more moments of flirting, Tanaka, who has worked with Carey on and off since 2005, opens up about how his relationship with the “Vision of Love” singer has evolved over the years.
“When I was on tour with Mariah the first time, I just remember she’s always been supportive of me as a dancer, as a choreographer, as a person,” he tells the camera in a confessional. “This is like a dream come true when you work with someone like Mariah Carey. She’s a legend. But I’m happy because it’s, like, it’s natural. It’s what it’s always been.”
Next, the pair are seen executing their special handshake before they share a beer together and tell each other goodbye with a sweet kiss.
As previously reported, Tanaka and Carey — who split from Packer in October — were spotted packing on the PDA during a sexy beach date in Hawaii on November 28. The new couple spent some quality time together at Maui’s Grand Wailea Resort after MC’s three shows in Honolulu.
During a December 4 interview with E! News, Carey said that she is thrilled that Tanaka is back in her life: “It’s really nice, especially when you’ve worked with somebody in the past and then you get to work with them again and just see how everybody’s grown creatively and all that.”
