Stiletto struggles! Mariah Carey has some shoe difficulty in the latest trailer for Mariah’s World, launching on E! Sunday, December 4.
The new promo for the eight-episode docuseries shows a team of four lacing Carey into her strappy black heels. “They always have to get so cute, and then they can’t go on right,” the music superstar explains. “Oprah told me, ‘Don’t let anybody think that you don’t know how to put your shoes on anymore.’”
“The problem is these shoes are abusive, and I can’t put them on alone,” Carey continues. “I’m not gonna lie about it.”
Stella Bulochnikov, Carey’s manager, jokes, “There’s four people putting on your shoes right now.”
Once the “We Belong Together” singer’s outfit is finally complete, she and Bulochnikov continue to mess around with one another, laughing together before the scene turns sentimental. “Stella’s kind of tough, but she’s an incredible person,” Carey says of her manager. “And she’s got her kids with her. We’re like a freakin’ TV show with two single moms.”
A key focus of the season will be Carey planning her wedding to now ex-fiancé James Packer. News of the pair’s split broke in late October, with rumors swirling that she and backup dancer Bryan Tanaka were romantically involved.
A previously released clip showed Carey’s staff discussing Tanaka’s “crush” on her, and the twosome were spotted kissing in Hawaii on Monday, November 28.
