Oh no! Poor Mark Ballas ended up in hospital Sunday afternoon, May 18, after being seriously injured during rehearsals for the live Dancing With The Stars performance airing Monday, May 19.
A rep for DWTS confirms to Us Weekly that the dancer was badly hurt at the CBS studio as he rehearsed with partner Candace Cameron Bure, for the top-rated show's highly anticipated finale
"His shoulder popped out during a lift and he was taken by ambulance to the hospital," the spokesperson tells Us. "He was treated and released, but it remains unclear whether he'll be able to perform on Monday's show."
The incident occured while the pro dancer was lifting Bure, 38, onto his shoulders in a piece of dramatic choreography. According to the rep, fellow dancer pals Derek Hough and Cheryl Burke rushed to his aid.
Brave Ballas is determined the show will go on, but DWTS execs have drafted in another expert to learn the steps with Bure in case doctors demand he sit the show out.
This isn't the first time Ballas, 27, has injured his shoulder at a critical moment. During the 2007 season 5 finale he dislocated his left shoulder—this time perfrorming with actress Sabrina Bryan.
