Capitalizing on an opportune moment? Viewers were abuzz over Shark Tank star Mark Cuban‘s remarks about the Solange–Jay Z elevator brawl footage that was leaked last Monday. The entrepreneur took to the stage with his fellow costar Kevin O’Leary to introduce Florida Georgia Line and Luke Bryan‘s performance at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 18, in Las Vegas.
“We’re here to announce our latest investments. We’ve just spent $3.2 billion to buy a hot new company called ‘Beat Downz by Solange,'” Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks, said.
O’Leary added with a chuckle, “That was a great, great elevator pitch.”
The moment, however, did not settle well with fans and guests at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The crowd reacted with a mix of “ohhhhs” and boos.
Though people are still talking about the heated Met Gala fight, a week after the footage leaked, Beyonce, Jay Z and Solange have since moved on. “The most important thing is that our family has worked through it,” the trio told the Associated Press in an exclusive statement. “Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public.”
Indeed, Beyonce shared a sisterly snapshot with Solange, hanging out together in New Orleans on Saturday, May 17.
