Mark McGrath Drops Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! Spoilers, Jokes Britney Spears Wouldn’t Survive: “She Wouldn’t Be as Resourceful” (Exclusive)

Forget wanting to fly. Mark McGrath wants to say goodbye! The Sugar Ray frontman makes a cameo in Sharknado’s third installment, Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!, and is totally fine if he gets killed by a tornado shark. The singer revealed what to expect in the Syfy flick when it premieres on Wednesday, July 22, and more during a recent visit to Us Weekly’s New York City headquarters.

But first, the rocker dropped a huge spoiler. “Death is so gnarly. I think I’m giving this away — I haven’t died yet!” McGrath, 47, said. “And I kind of want to die in a Sharknado film. Just because you die doesn’t mean you’re dying. Anything can happen in this movie. That’s what’s so great about it.”

Indeed, just ask some A-listers. “Sharknado has become so big that real, legitimate actors are trying to be in it and they are being turned away,” McGrath added. “I think they are making a four and five. People be prepared. Your city may be under attack soon from sharks that live in a tornado!”

McGrath joked that one star in particular probably would be first bait. “I’m gonna have to go with Britney Spears,” he said. “She wouldn’t be as resourceful as Taylor [Swift] and Christina [Aguilera].”

McGrath reprises his role as Martin Brody in the horror sci-fi TV movie that garnered over 3.9 million viewers in its sequel’s debut alone. (Get ready for the Twitter trends!) He stars alongside Ian Ziering, Tara Reid, David Hasselhoff, Cassie Scerbo, Frankie Muniz, Holly Madison, Rick Fox, Kendra Wilkinson, Mark Cuban, Vivica A. Fox, Jackie Collins, and Bo Derek.
