‘Married at First Sight’ Bride Mistakenly Tells Groom’s Grandma That the Marriage Won’t Last: Watch!

Be sure to enunciate! On Married at First Sight's Tuesday, January 26, episode, Vanessa is surprisingly candid during a phone call with Tres' grandma, as seen in Us Weekly's exclusive sneak peek.

In the footage, the newlyweds decide to call Mimi after they get home from a painting class.

"I can tell Tres really, really loves his grandmother, and she holds a really special place in his heart," Vanessa tells the camera.

However, their chat takes an unforeseen turn when Vanessa apparently mishears Mimi's query.

"What do you think, Vanessa? Do you think this is the real thing?" the groom's grandmother asks, to which Vanessa replies, "No, I don't."

Tres is understandably stunned until his wife finally explains that she thought she was asked whether the conversation was "real funny."

"I didn't hear her say, 'Do you think it's going to work?'" Vanessa continues. "I felt so bad! I was like, 'What?'"

The uncomfortable moment can be seen in the video above.

Married at First Sight, produced by Kinetic Content, airs on FYI on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST.
