Throwback! Sometimes the stars of ABC Family’s Melissa & Joey get as nostalgic making the sitcom as you do watching it, as evidenced in the blooper reel for Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence’s comedy, in which the two stars can’t stop cracking up.
The two ‘90s TV icons star as an unlikely couple raising Mel’s niece and nephew in the series, which is ending this summer after four seasons. In honor of the show’s midseason premiere on June 3, Us Weekly has an exclusive sneak peek at a blooper reel in which Lawrence makes reference to his sitcom past.
During a Halloween-themed scene, Lawrence notices a decorative meat cleaver stuck in the cabinet and throws in a line from a different sitcom (where he also played a character named Joey).
“Well I didn’t do that. I thought that you did that,” Lawrence says, turning to Hart.
“I didn’t do that,” she replies.
“Whoaaa!” he exclaims, a la his Joey Russo catchphrase on the early ‘90s comedy Blossom.
