Friday Night Lights
CMT is debuting a Memorial Day marathon of Friday Night Lights (the movie and TV show!) hosted by Jessie James Decker.

It’s beach season! Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer, but as many flock to the nearest body of water to spend time outdoors, plenty of others prefer to stay inside for a three-day weekend of relaxation.

CMT is kicking off the season and its acquisition of the Emmy-winning football drama Friday Night Lights with an FNL marathon — of both the movie and the TV show! — hosted by singer and Redneck Island co-host Jessie James Decker, Us Weekly can exclusively reveal.

Friday Night Lights movie
Tim McGraw and Garrett Hedlund starred 2004’s Friday Night Lights movie.

The network will debut the movie, starring Billy Bob Thornton and Tim McGraw, at 9:30 a.m. ET on Monday, May 25, followed immediately by the TV show at noon. Fans can vote for their favorite FNL characters on the CMT Facebook page, and the top five favorites will be revealed on-air throughout the eight-episode marathon.

The day holds plenty of TV options for a variety of tastes — Ion is running cop drama Blue Bloods all day long, while A&E is focusing on crime drama Criminal Minds and its award-winning docuseries The First 48. Bravo will offer episodes of Southern Charm and Shahs of Sunset before new episodes debut in the evening, and MTV will air the entire season of Teen Mom OG before the finale at 10 p.m. ET.
