It’s five episodes into The Mother/Daughter Experiment: Celebrity Edition, and it does not seem like this group therapy stint is benefitting all of its participants. Indeed, the women argued about such topics as drinking problems, their bodies and a certain 17-year-old grocery-store bagger.
Heidi Montag Convinces Krista Keller to Stay on the Show
At the top of the episode, Krista Keller threatened to leave the show because of a fight with her daughter, Courtney Stodden. Courtney sat in the hallway crying as Heidi Montag tried to convince the 56-year-old mother to stay and stick it out. You know things are messy when Heidi is the only sane one in your corner! How did Heidi convince her to stay? The power of prayer!
“I pray for people. Most prayers come true!” said the reality star. Between her prayer power and Spencer Pratt’s crystals, it’s a wonder they haven’t won the lottery yet!
Krista Keller Had an Emotional Attachment With Doug Hutchinson
Krista, as she will continue to do throughout the episode, kept stressing that Courtney’s much older husband, Doug Hutchinson, is not an innocent party in the whole “emotional attachment” ordeal. Krista revealed, “He told me he has different feelings than he should have for his mother-in-law. And I told him I was having some feelings, too. And when he started the sex stuff, that’s when I said, ‘I gotta find me a man.'”
Just after saying this, Courtney barged into the room and said, “I have a recording of you in my husband’s Jeep saying, ‘I think about you sexually all the time.’ You also then started joking and saying, ‘Have you ever thought about a mother-daughter thing?’” But Krista quickly denied making the remarks to the 55-year-old Lost actor.
Courtney Reveals Her Mother Flirted With Her 17-Year-Old Boyfriend — When Courtney Was 12
Courtney then divulged that this betrayal with Doug was not the first time her mother has used her to land her significant other. In a group therapy session Courtney said, “I was 12 years old, and there was a grocery-store bagger who was 17 years old, and I think you were attracted to him. I felt like you used me to get him over to the house.”
Krista admitted to Dr. Debbie Magids, “When I lived in Ocean Shores, I had a lower-cut shirt on, and he was flirting with me, and I was vulnerable. I became emotionally attached to the boy. I didn’t do the right thing — I didn’t go to my daughter. I didn’t tell him to stop.” Note to Krista: There is really nothing about this scenario that is even remotely in the range of “appropriate.”
Heidi’s Mom Is Concerned About Her Drinking
After starting the morning off with a mimosa before group therapy (as one does), Heidi’s mom, Darlene Egelhoff, seemed to be concerned about her daughter’s drinking habits. Referring to her daughter’s drinking, Darlene said, “On the first night here, it was clearly a problem. And the reason you were drinking was to reduce stress. That’s a huge red flag.”
Heidi denied she had a problem with alcohol and shamed Jessica Canseco for jokingly calling her an alcoholic earlier. Heidi said, “That’s not funny because some people are dealing with very serious issues like that.”
Kim Richards, who is in recovery, was not happy to be lumped into this conversation, saying, “When you were all talking about the alcohol issue — I am in recovery. It was a little uncomfortable.”
Kim Richards Mentions Not Being on Speaking Terms With a “Family Member”
Later in the episode, each mom was paired up with a daughter that was not their own. Kim was partnered with Courtney, who asked the Bravo star, “How do you deal with it?” Kim said, “The support of my family. Because my lows, they weren’t just my lows. They were my lows publicly.”
The Escape From Witch Mountain actress continued, saying, “I had a falling out with one of my family members, and not talking to that person tore me up. That’s why I tell you, no matter what, do your best to fix it.” We can only guess she’s referring to her torrid relationship with her sister and fellow Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Kyle Richards.
Krista Keller Trashes Girls With “Fake Breasts”
In a bizarre twist, when Krista and Natalie Nunn were paired up, Krista fawned over the Bad Girls Club star’s looks. Courtney’s mom said, “I love your look, your body, your hair. You’re not flat-chested in any means. Guys like real boobs, let me tell ya. They’re getting kinda tired touching those fake things.” Who does Krista know that has publicly gotten breast implants? None other than her own daughter! Classy!
Krista Alleges That Doug Sends Her “Dirty Notes”
As the episode came to a close, Krista managed to slip in one more allegation of Doug’s infidelity, saying, “Doug does his work on his computer and writes me dirty notes.”
She didn’t elaborate on the topic because Natalie was done listening to her. “Sometimes it feels like hanging out with Krista is like, I’m on another planet,” an exhausted Natalie told the camera.
