Who the bleep did this army vet marry? Nathan Richardson, husband of the actress who was sentenced to 18 years in prison for sending letters contaminated with ricin to President Obama, opens up about his experience in the Monday, March 16 episode of TLC’s Who the (Bleep) Did I Marry?
Richardson, 28, fell in love with Shannon Rogers after serving in Kuwait with her cousin. But shortly after marrying the divorced mother of five, Richardson began to discover that his wife, who was suffering from brain cancer, was hiding several devastating secrets. Richardson, an aspiring star, made minor appearances in Atlanta-shot productions including The Walking Dead and the Sandra Bullock movie The Blind Side.
In Us Weekly‘s exclusive sneak peek at the episode, Richardson reflects on his wife’s behavior.
“Shannon sent me a picture of a pregnancy test. I was kind of shocked, because she was supposed to be on birth control, and there was a possibility she wouldn’t live long enough to have a child,” he says. “Our relationship was up and down. Sometimes we were good, sometimes we weren’t. I definitely didn’t want to have a child under those circumstances.”
After discovering that Rogers had opened — and maxed out — six credit cards in his name, he knew he was in trouble. “I was wasting away,” he says. “Emotionally, I was dying.”
