He’s back! Chris Rock is hosting the 88th Academy Awards ceremony on Sunday, February 28, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, giving him a chance to add to his already lengthy list of legendary comedy performances.
The Saturday Night Live alum, who hosted the 2005 Oscars, is famous for jokes that offer incisive social commentary while also skewering important people and celebrities, as seen in Us Weekly‘s highlight video.
“The only acting you ever see at the Oscars are when people act like they’re not mad they lost,” Rock, 51, said during his 2005 monologue at Hollywood’s glitziest event. “I remember one year when Halle Berry won the Oscar, Nicole Kidman was smiling so wide, she should have won an Emmy at the Oscars for her great performance.”
Check out the video above to see some of the Grown Ups actor’s most classic bits, including him asking for “just one rib,” his diatribe about Janet Jackson‘s infamous 2004 wardrobe malfunction at the Super Bowl and his description of his dad claiming that “‘Tussin’ can fix anything.
The 2016 Oscars air live on ABC Sunday, February 28, at 7 p.m. EST. Us Weekly will be providing full coverage of the awards show, including the winners list, videos of the biggest moments and exclusive reporting from the event.
