Things are coming full circle for Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale.
Nine years after competing on the American Idol spinoff American Juniors, Hale, 22, has signed a recording contract with Hollywood Records. According to Just Jared, she will release her first single and album in 2013.
"I'm overjoyed and honored to become a member of the Hollywood Records family," Hale said in a statement. "I've admired the careers they've made and can't wait to see how my musical path is paved out."
Hale also thanked "everyone involved for giving me the chance to show a whole different side of myself, which is a huge passion for music."
The singer-actress first hinted that she would be venturing into the world of music during an interview with Teen Vogue in February 2011. "I sing in the car, at home — it's a huge part of my life, especially since I'm from Tennessee," she said. "When I'm ready for it, I'm going to dive into it 100 percent."
