Eddie Cibrian has gotten the pink slip.
Both E! News and Entertainment Weekly are reporting that the actor, 37, who joined CSI Miami last season after replacing Adam Rodriguez, has been dropped from the CBS cop drama.
“Creatively the focus this season will be on the core group," a source tells UsMagazine.com. "Original cast member Adam Rodriguez left last year but is coming back full time this season. There are only so many characters you can service. Cast changes end up becoming a part of the evolution of a series.”
It has not yet been decided how he will be written off the show, according to E!
Last year, Cibrian become more famous for his private life than his professional gig after Us Weekly broke the news that he had an affair with LeAnn Rimes while shooting a Lifetime movie.
Both Rimes, 27, and Cibrian filed for divorce a short time later.
Rimes recently said it was "selfish" having an affair and that she hates that "people got hurt."
