Tough to revisit. Tamra Judge and the rest of the ladies share their memories of the frightening dune buggy crash on The Real Housewives of Orange County‘s season 11 reunion on Monday, November 21.
The Bravo series’ preview clip shows host Andy Cohen pointing out that Judge felt responsible for the accident at the time. (As fans saw this season, the desert trip to Glamis, California, took a scary turn when the dune buggy that Judge was driving flipped over; she and Vicki Gunvalson were both taken to a hospital for medical attention.)
“Oh, absolutely,” Judge says at the reunion. “I was driving.” When Cohen, 48, asks if she still feels to blame, the CUT Fitness mogul, 49, adds, “Yeah, I mean, I’m the driver. I’m the driver.”
Heather Dubrow, however, is quick to take the onus off of her friend: “But Tamra’s been driving those dunes her whole life. I mean, it’s called an accident for a reason.”
The actress, 47, remembers preparing herself for the impact. “For me, I knew it was about to happen, and then I really calmly said to Tamra, ‘We’re gonna roll,'” Dubrow recalls. “And I thought to myself, ‘Terry [Dubrow] always says that when you’re in an accident, go limp.’ So I held onto this bar that was in front of me, and I took a deep breath, and I just went limp.”
Judge reveals that when part of the vehicle fell on her, she was afraid to see what it was out of fear that it was one of her friends: “I thought a body was on me because my eyes were just closed, and I felt this heavy weight that hit me in the head, and I thought, ‘Oh, please, please, please.’ And I just was afraid to open my eyes ’cause I just knew there was a body on me.”
