Melissa Gorga has no regrets about apologizing to Teresa Giudice during The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th‘s finale.

“I don’t believe in holding things in. I’ll always apologize. I’m a happy person,” Melissa, 47, exclusively told Us at MISTR’s 2nd annual National PrEP Day at The Abbey in West Hollywood on Saturday, October 10. “I always want to move on. I’m happy to give an apology for anything that might have hurt someone.”

During the October 4 Girls Trip episode, Melissa apologized for how her casting on The Real Housewives of New Jersey for season 3 had impacted Teresa, 54.

“In my mind, I was taking an opportunity that was offered to me, and I had no ill will,” Melissa explained to Us when recalling the moment she first joined the show. “But you never know how other people are going to take it.”

She continued, “It was a battle back then. It didn’t pan out very nicely, you know. So I was apologizing for just anything that could have caused any hurt, and she’s definitely apologized too. It goes both ways.”

According to Melissa, there are many conversations that can’t always be shown in full when a show goes to air.

“I think there was a longer conversation there that you guys didn’t see the full conversation,” she teased. “But I’m happy that everyone saw me apologize because I feel like it takes a strong person to admit when they’re wrong and to move forward, and I’m so happy to do that for my family. I love our family, and I want us to stay together for a really long time.”

During the Girls Trip finale, Teresa made it clear that it was all water under the bridge when she said, “I would’ve never made up with you if I wasn’t over it. I promise.”

The pair are also expected to star in season 15 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

“I am so psyched about this season,” Melissa teased to Us on Saturday at Tristan Schukraft’s event that aims to celebrate sexual health, eliminate stigma and champion for free HIV prevention. “The new girls are amazing. A lot of new faces. There’s a lot of emotions, a lot of drama and a lot of crying.”

When asked if costar and friend Dolores Catania help keep things peaceful amongst family members, Melissa was happy to report, “We don’t need help anymore.”

“We’re moving forward. Dolores was always a huge help, but I think she even gave up as of last year,” Melissa explained. “Everybody just gave up on us, which we understand. But now I don’t think we need help anymore. Thank God.”

The Real Housewives of New Jersey is streaming now on Peacock. A premiere date for season 15 has yet to be announced.
