Still slaying it after all these years! Sarah Michelle Gellar reminisced about the good ole Buffy the Vampire Slayer days more than a decade after its series finale via Instagram on Wednesday, May 20.
“12 years ago, I said goodbye to a friend. It was an incredible journey that, I am so incredibly proud of,” Gellar, 38, captioned a photo montage. “Thank you all for joining me, and continuing to tell her story #BuffyTheVampireSlayer #BTVS.”
In the throwback pics, Gellar’s Buffy Summers is kicking butt (as always), hanging with Willow Rosenberg (Alyson Hannigan) and Dawn Summers (Michelle Trachtenberg), and having an intimate moment with Angel (David Boreanaz).
The Joss Whedon-created supernatural drama ended its run on May 20, 2003 after seven seasons. In the series finale titled “Chosen,” the Scooby Gang destroys Sunnydale’s Hell Mouth. Buffy ends up single and Spike (tear!), played by James Marsters, dies.
