Not every bride wants to be all dressed in white. Sharde Antonio breaks down in tears after trying on her mom’s gown pick in Say Yes to the Dress‘ Friday, April 15, episode, as seen in Us Weekly‘s exclusive sneak peek.
Sharde is planning her “rainbow unicorn wedding” and wants to wear a colorful dress that displays her idiosyncratic tastes. But her mom, Florence — set on seeing her daughter in white or off-white at the nuptials — asks consultant Breanna to convince Sharde to try on an ivory gown.
“When I see the dresses, I just cringe,” the bride-to-be says of the more conventional options. “I know my mom will like it, but it’s not something that’s me.”
Sharde puts her mom’s favored dress on but breaks down in tears as she models it.
“I won’t feel beautiful in something that’s not me,” the bride adds the camera. “My mom just doesn’t get it.”
