Not a slam dunk? Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta‘s Friday, January 29, episode features WNBA star Angel McCoughtry struggling to impress her friends with her fashion taste, as seen in Us Weekly‘s exclusive sneak peek.
In the footage, the Atlanta Dream forward, 29, and fiancée Brande Serrano head to Bridals by Lori to try on potential attire for the big day. McCoughtry initially eyes a pantsuit, but after she is convinced to try on a white column dress, she is pleasantly surprised by how she looks.
“I actually like it,” McCoughtry admits. “It gives me some nice curves I didn’t even know I had.”
However, her personal assistant, Bentley, sees things differently.
“It looks so maternal,” he tells her, much to the others’ chagrin. He then explains to the camera why he felt comfortable offering a dissenting opinion: “I’m her personal assistant, so our relationship dynamic is a tad bit different from everybody else’s.”
The bride-to-be is clearly deflated but takes the observation to heart. “I value Bentley’s opinion a lot because we work together every day,” McCoughtry says.
