Sean Lowe, seen here rehearsing for Dancing With the Stars with partner Peta Murgatroyd, denies being a "diva."

He may be covered in sequins on Dancing With the Stars, but Sean Lowe isn't as high maintenance as TMZ wants its readers to believe. On March 24, the website claimed the reigning Bachelor demanded to be filmed from certain angles, talked down to crew members and bragged to his fellow competitors, "This show needs me!"

Lowe — who scored 20/30 points with pro partner Peta Murgatroyd during the March 25 episode — told Us Weekly the report couldn't be further from the truth. "I heard those rumors! You answer that one, Peta. Am I a diva?"

"Absolutely not!" Murgatroyd laughed. "He is so far from it! It's absolutely absurd. It's ridiculous, laughable. We heard about it and we just burst out laughing because he's not that at all." Lowe added, "It doesn't bother me."

Ignoring the TMZ report was easy for the 29-year-old insurance agent, as he was too busy perfecting his jive in rehearsals all week. "The biggest challenge has just been being comfortable out there, because this is so foreign to me," Lowe told Us. "You have to know the routine frontwards and backwards to get out there and perform confidently! This week was a step in the right direction, but I think next week could be even better."

With Murgatroyd's help, Lowe believes they can nab the coveted Mirror Ball trophy. "We've got the perfect relationship because she teaches and she yells, but it's in a joking way!" the reality star said. "And I don't take her that seriously when she does it! I'm not scared of the girl! We get a lot accomplished, we have a lot of fun, she gets on my butt — I need it! She's making me a better dancer."

The first contestant from season 16 of Dancing With the Stars will be eliminated March 26. The episode airs at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
