Shirley Jones is nothing like Mrs. Partridge! In her new tell-all, Shirley Jones: A Memoir, the 79-year-old Partridge Family star is sharing graphic details about her sex life — particularly during her first marriage to Jack Cassidy.
In an excerpt from her book (via The Associated Press), Jones writes that she met Cassidy when she was a 21-year-old virgin and he became her “sexual Svengali.” The actress then goes into great detail about late actor’s impressive endowment, their threesome with another woman and his alleged pre-marital sexual encounter with Cole Porter.
Jones was married to Cassidy from 1956 to 1974, and together they had three sons. Cassidy died in 1976 when his West Hollywood apartment caught on fire.
Jones has now been married to comedian Marty Ingels for 35 years and says she still has a wild sex life. “Luckily, Marty thinks I’ve still got a beautiful body, even though it is old, and every now and again I take all of my clothes off in front of him and shake my [breasts] at him, and he loves it,” Jones writes.
What does Ingels, 77, think about Jones’ new tell-all? “All that stuff she did with her husband (Cassidy), all those adventures . . . I’m looking into the grounds of having my marriage annulled,” he joked to The Associated Press.
Jones said she felt ready to show her fans that she’s different from the characters she’s played on screen. The Music Man star explained, “I never would have written this book if I weren’t the age I am now.”
