Always on fire! Sia had the crowd on their feet as she performed her latest single, “Cheap Thrills,” during The Voice‘s season 10 finale on Tuesday, May 24.
As is her trademark, the singer-songwriter, 40, covered her face with her signature wig for the telecast. She was joined by her mini-muse, Madison “Maddie” Nicole Ziegler, who danced center stage with two other girls.
“Gotta do my hair, I put my makeup on / It’s Friday night and I won’t be long,” she sang to the audience and coaches Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and Pharrell Williams. “Till I hit the dance floor / Hit the dance floor / I got all I need / No I ain’t got cash / I ain’t got cash / But I got you baby.”
Back in December, Sia revealed that she initially wrote the song for Rihanna. Sia previously penned the Barbadian native’s 2012 hit “Diamonds.”
“We did actually send it to her, but they passed on it, and then I just couldn’t stop listening to it in the car,” Sia told Rolling Stone. “There’s something really uplifting about it that put me in a good mood, and I would just pretend it wasn’t me singing. It felt very summer and fun, and I was like, ‘I’ll put that on there.'”
