They ain’t yo average groupies! Rapper Sir Mix-A-Lot proved he appeals to audiences of all types on Saturday, June 6, when he performed his 1992 chestnut “Baby Got Back” at Benaroya Hall in Seattle, Washington while accompanied by the Seattle Symphony.
The 50-year-old, who was raised in Seattle, was participating in the Seattle Symphony’s Sonic Evolution project, where the orchestra performs songs from famous city locals.
For his rendition of the chart-topping classic, the rapper, whose real name is Anthony Ray, invited several women to join him onstage. More than 30 eager ladies quickly leapt up, energetically dancing and shaking their booties to show that baby do, in fact, got back.
One woman —- we’re looking at you, black dress —- got particularly into the performance, dancing up on Sir Mix-A-Lot and entertaining the audience with her sprinkler-filled moves.
