The Jersey Shore's casting director, Doron Ofir, tells Blackbook magazine that the entire cast will be replaced for the third season. (Among the shows Ofir has cast: A Shot at Love With Tila Tequila, Paris Hilton's My New BFF, RuPaul's Drag Race and Millionaire Matchmaker.)
A rep for MTV denies Ofir's statement, and tells UsMagazine.com, "We have started general casting for Jersey Shore Season 2 in case we want to explore the option of bringing on new cast members."
Snooki, The Situation, JWOWW, Pauly D, Sammi and Ronnie reportedly demanded a big pay raise after the first season became MTV's highest-rated series. TMZ.com reported the group received a $10,000 signing bonus and $5,000 per episode for season 2, which premieres July 29.
One castmate who won't be too bummed to be off the show: JWOWW, who "cried her eyes out" when she found out the series had been renewed.
"She doesn't want to be on the show anymore," a source told Us Weekly. The problem? Her castmates. "She isn't friends with them," the insider says. (Another source counters, "She and Snooki are really close.")
