Multiple ‘Special Forces’ Contestants Get Lost and Stuck in Quicksand During Challenge: ‘A Trap’ (Exclusive)

Special Forces is only getting more challenging as season 5 continues — and this week, two contestants struggle to get out of quicksand.

In Us’ exclusive clip from the Thursday, October 22, episode, David Charvet and Matt Barnes get stuck in quicksand that formed from “an intense rain,” according to the narrator.

Charvet, 54, refers to the situation as a “trap,” adding, “Every time I move, I slip back down.” He also questions whether his backpack was “too heavy.”

The duo eventually call for help by blowing their whistle, but it isn’t clear whether the Directing Staff is around to step in.

The concerning situation comes as this season’s lineup of recruits continues to dwindle. Earlier this month, NFL alum LeSean McCoy got into a conversation with his fellow competitors about his issues with the show.

“I’m not s***ting outside,” he told the group. “I won’t s*** for three days or eight days.”

Despite hoping to push through, McCoy’s visit to the restroom, which was out in the open, caused him to officially withdraw, saying, “I am not ready for all this thing. I am not taking no s*** here.”

McCoy, 38, then called over the Directing Staff to deliver the news.

“Staff, your bed is getting mosquitoes all night, but it’s cool. This stuff is great, but I am not s***ting outside,” he noted. “I am cool. I am not doing nothing else.”

McCoy later spoke to Us about having to deal with the elements.

“We’re out here with little stuff like this. But in real life, I saw a big mosquito, just as big as this, and they were doing a lot of biting. When I woke up the next morning, I had so many bites on my back,” he exclusively told Us about the challenges. “On my first day there, we got into the jungle and the bathroom was outside. Now that was hard. Like, whoa, we gonna use the bathroom outside? So in my head, I said, ‘I gotta hold this thing in for as long as I’m here.’ That’s what I’m thinking.”

He continued: “When I looked into the bathroom, it really was just like a hole, some wood, a circle and a bucket. That’s it. And there was a big snake in there. I’m like, ‘Oh, hell no.’ So I said, ‘I’m not using the bathroom.’ They got snakes. I saw a king cobra.”

McCoy found the conditions to be the “hardest” part.

“Obviously the missions and tasks were hard, but it’s the stuff you’re not prepared for,” he continued. “I saw that stuff in zoos and on TV — I never saw those types of animals or creatures in person. That was scary.”

Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test season 5 airs on Fox Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.
