Bukowski and Newlon vs. Trueheart and Petersen: only one Bachelor Pad team would end up with the chance to walk away from Monday night's finale a quarter of a million dollars richer.
During last week's penultimate installment, Rachel Trueheart and her partner Nick Petersen chose to take Chris Bukowski and Sarah Newlon — the house's troublemakers — to the finale with them.
Their strategy paid off — the pair's former housemates opted to send the polarizing duo packing.
When it came time to decide what to do with the cash prize, Trueheart chose to share the cash, but Petersen opted to keep it for himself, saying Trueheart hadn't wanted to partner up with him to begin with. For being the only one to select to keep the money, Petersen got to take home every penny, becoming the show's first solo champion ever.
"Are you kidding me? I brought you here! You're here because of me!" an infuriated Trueheart yelled at Petersen. "You are disgusting."
The dramatic battle for the cash wasn't the night's true highlight, however. That honor belongs to lovebirds Blakely Shea Jones and Tony Pieper. As the couple stood up to announce that they were moving in together, Pieper shocked his girlfriend by getting down on one knee and popping the question in front of the audience, his former housemates, and host Chris Harrison.
