It's time for an airing of grievances! Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, is set to sit down with Steve Harvey for an interview on his talk show later this month, Entertainment Tonight reports.
The interview on the Steve Harvey Show is scheduled to air during the week of January 18, and will mark their first public conversation since the Miss Universe pageant. At the December event that the 58-year-old comedian hosted, he accidentally announced Gutierrez, 21, as the winner before correcting himself and crowning the actual victor, Miss Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach.
On his Steve Harvey Morning Show radio program last week, the Family Feud host said he admitted "wholeheartedly" to making a mistake and that he had yet to clear the air with the runner-up.
"When I did it, it was horrible for Miss Colombia, and she's the only one I haven't had a chance to talk to," Harvey said. "I've had a chance to talk to Miss Philippines. I've talked to all the pageant people. I've talked to people backstage. Even me and the director had a long talk. But I haven't been able to reach out and talk to Miss Colombia. Now, have I tried? Yes. But haven't gotten a response."
For her part, Gutierrez is likely to have a lot to say. In a December interview with Colombia's W radio, she said that the situation had been tough to handle.
"It was very humiliating for me, but also for the whole country and for all the people not only from Colombia, but the other Latinos that were in the auditorium," she said.
The Steve Harvey Show airs weekdays in syndication.
