SYTYCD Alum Chelsie Hightower: Who I’m Rooting for This Season

As the So You Think You Can Dance field narrows to 10 on Thursday's show, former contestant Chelsie Hightower knows just who she's rooting for.

"My favorites are Ryan [Ramirez] and Melanie [Moore]," season 4's Hightower, 21, told Us Weekly during a July 8 visit to our New York City office. "Ryan has amazing movement and understands dance to a T, while Melanie has exquisite technique and is just brilliant overall."

Hightower — currently a pro on ABC's Dancing With the Stars — has high praise for Moore's June 15 contemporary routine with Marko Gemar, which she calls her "favorite dance so far."

"The 'statues' dance [choreographed by Travis Wall] just got better and better," Hightower enthuses to Us. "[From] the chemistry between the two of them to the choreography, it was one of those pieces when everything came together. That doesn't happen always, but when it does, it's beautiful, and that was the that piece for me."
