Looks like Teresa Giudice isn’t the only one in her family who craves the spotlight. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star’s eldest daughter, 13-year-old Gia, just debuted the first music video by her girl group 3KT: a cover of Britney Spears‘ song “Circus.”
The video, posted to the group’s YouTube channel on Oct. 31, shows Gia and two of her friends — Alexa Maetta and Cristianna Cardinale — singing and dancing to Spears’ 2008 hit single. Their outfits in the risque clip range from sequined bustiers and miniskirts to crop tops and gold hot pants, and their choreography is equally boundary-pushing.
The trio was formed over the summer, amid all the legal drama surrounding Gia’s parents, Teresa and Joe Giudice. Their name, 3KT, stands for “3 Karat Diamonds,” and they cite Beyonce, Madonna, Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, and (of course) Spears as their “musical inspirations.”
Earlier this week, reports surfaced that Teresa had dropped thousands of dollars on 3KT’s video. Other reports claim the girls’ management company paid the bill — but either way, Teresa is invested, if not financially, then emotionally.
“She wants Gia to have an activity to distract her,” a source tells Us Weekly of the mom of four, who is set to report to prison in January for a 15-month term behind bars.
For the moment, at least, it seems to be working. “The group is making both Teresa and Gia very happy because they can focus all their attention on something positive,” the source adds.
