So long, Christian Grey — for now. BBC announced on Tuesday, Mar. 10, that The Fall will be returning for a third season with Gillian Anderson and (drumroll!) Jamie Dornan!
Dornan’s dark, murderous character Paul Spector (ahem, Peter) will be back to square off with Anderson’s Detective Stella Gibson for a five-episode run that will conclude the Belfast-based thriller. The series, which is also on Netflix, will likely return next year.
Fans were left guessing if Dornan would be coming back when (spoiler alert!) Spector was shot in the woods during season two’s 90-minute finale. At the time, Spector was showing Gibson where he left his brunette victim Rose Stagg, played by Valene Kane.
“You don’t want to be in that headspace all the time. Certain actors would but I remember thinking I was in over my head when they cast me,” Dornan told The Mirror in June 2013. “I don’t want to play a serial killer for the rest of my life but this will change perceptions of who I am.”
