The Gentlemen has been renewed for season 3 amid rumors Meghan Markle is in talks to join the cast.
“Ambition can’t be tamed. The Gentlemen Season 2, starring Theo James and Kaya Scodelario, premieres NEXT THURSDAY,” Netflix wrote via its official X account on Monday, August 24. “As for Season 3? Consider it official.”
Several fans took to the comments section to express their excitement over the news.
“Theo James in a tailored suit should honestly be considered a public service,” one user wrote while another replied, “Best series I have watched in recent years now back with boom 💥 💥.”
Others also gushed about the dynamic between James and Scodelario’s characters, Eddie and Susie.
“I’m sat!!!!! “Be careful with your carefuls Susan’ I’m sat!!!!,” one fan wrote over James’ line to Scodelario while another is wishful for a “a proper eddie-susan slow burn.”
The Gentlemen follows Eddie as he makes the unexpected transition from duke to drug baron after inheriting a weed empire. Eddie ultimately partners with a criminal dynasty that has its own agenda.

After establishing his criminal enterprise in the inaugural season, season 2 will follow Eddie as he expands on an international level. The Gentlemen season 2 will premiere on September 3.
In addition to James and Scodelario, The Gentlemen stars Ray Winstone, Daniel Ings, Giancarlo Esposito, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones, Jasmine Blackborow and more. Hugh Bonneville, Benjamin Clementine, Benedetta Porcaroli, Amra Mallassi and more joined the cast for the second season.
News of The Gentlemen’s third season renewal comes amid rumors Meghan, 45, would be joining the cast. Us previously learned that she is in early talks for a starring role in Guy Ritchie’s series. However, it has since been reported by Tina Brown, former editor-in-chief of Vanity Fair and The New Yorker, that Meghan’s offer had been withdrawn due to backlash.
This would be Meghan’s first role since the former Suits star stepped away from acting in 2017 after getting engaged to husband Prince Harry. Neither Meghan nor anyone from The Gentleman have confirmed her casting.
Meghan’s potential acting return comes after news broke that she and Harry would be moving back to the United Kingdom. The couple initially left the U.K. in 2020 after they stepped down from their senior roles in the royal family. Harry and Meghan, who share son Prince Archie and daughter Princess Lilibet, stated at the time that they wanted to become financially independent and raise their family in a more healing environment.
The Gentlemen may be a good fit for Meghan as the series films in the U.K. The show is also on Netflix, whom Meghan has worked with multiple times.
