Nia Sanchez Says Husband Danny Booko Has Received ‘Death Threats’ From ‘The Valley’ Viewers (Exclusive)

The Valley’s Nia Sanchez can’t fathom some of the harsh feedback her husband, Danny Booko, is receiving from viewers.

“We see the comments and we see the DMs and it kind of makes me wonder what’s wrong with people because he’s gotten death threats,” Nia, 36, exclusively shared with Us Weekly on Thursday, June 25. “People have told him you should just, like, go in the back and take yourself out so that your kids and wife can be happier. That is so heartbreaking to me.”

Ever since The Valley premiered in May 2024, Nia and Danny — who share Asher, 4, twins Isabelle and Zariah, 3, and Adelaide, 12 months — have been an open book when it comes to their marriage and family life. The couple celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary last October, having tied the knot in 2015.

In season 3, which is currently airing on Bravo, Danny, 42, has been put under the microscope after some viewers and costars questioned his drinking habits and tense conversations with Nia.

“He’s also so intentional with his headspace, and I’m so grateful for that because while those ones really do affect him and get him down, he starts every day fresh,” Nia shared. “He takes care of his mental health, like, physically with working out and prayer and meditation. He’s really intentional to be in a good headspace for our family.”

Nia knows what it’s like to face both positive and critical feedback. Before saying “yes” to The Valley, the reality star won Miss USA 2014. At the time, she faced “scrutiny and negative comments” from some members of the public.

“There were a lot of things that were similar coming at me and my headspace around it has always been that’s really sad that that’s someone’s heart and headspace wants to go put that on someone that they don’t know,” Nia shared. “It helps me to kind of zoom out and be like it’s not a reflection of me or not a reflection of you.”

She praised the “incredible platform” while making it clear she wouldn’t continue with the show if her marriage was at risk.

“I’ve always told Daniel the No. 1 most important thing — and we’ve both said this to each other — is the health of our marriage,” she explained. “If we feel like we’re getting to a place that’s not something we can quickly rebound from, then we need to put a pause to focus on the health of our marriage and longevity of that for us and our kids. That’s the most important thing over anything else — our family — so we’re in a lot better place now with the therapy and the work that we’re both really putting in.”

The Valley airs on Bravo Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET. Stream new episodes the next day on Peacock.
