Ghosts of SNLs past! Tina Fey and Amy Poehler revived their impressions of Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton on the December 19 episode of Saturday Night Live, and the reunion was a hilarious one.
The sketch started out with current cast member Kate McKinnon as Clinton, musing to herself in the mirror while wearing a white bathrobe.
“I’m dreaming of a White … House,” she hums to herself (in the best holiday tune sendup ever). “In 11 months, you’re finally going to get your present — the Republicans are bozos, the DNC is sabotaging Bernie.… I think you’re gonna sleep well tonight!”
But just as McKinnon-as-Clinton settles in for a “night of productive dreaming,” a poof of smoke reveals Clinton from 2008, a.k.a. Poehler in a power suit.
After the women exchange long exaggerated “hellos,” the pair get down to business, with McKinnon filling Poehler in on what’s to come for the year 2015.
“It’s not enough just to work hard, we have to be cool but tough, strong but soft, not just a sweet old lady, but a sweet old lady that says, ‘Yassss qweeen,’” 2015 Clinton explains to 2008 Clinton.
Among the other things McKinnon warns Poehler about: Bernie “The Human Berkenstock” Sanders, Donald Trump’s candidacy (Poehler faints) and using her infamous BlackBerry for emails.
But just in case the two Clintons aren’t enough, another puff of smoke appears and Fey-as-Palin makes an entrance.
“Oh, geez. It looks like I went through time and space again,” she says, before noticing the two Clintons. “What the heck! I landed in the bedroom of a lesbian couple!”
