When asked if she looks back at making Halloween: Resurrection fondly, Tyra Banks had a firm answer.

“No,” Banks, 52, told Entertainment Weekly in an article published on Friday, October 2. “Not even a little bit. Like, not even a tiny bit.”

Banks explained that she agreed to star in the thrasher film after the role was suggested to her by an agent, who had hoped the model’s career could mirror Halloween H20 actor Josh Hartnett.

“I was like, ‘I’m not going to do that.’ What is it going to do for my career? I’m a model, and I need to do things that are kind of different to get this acting career that I want,” Banks recalled telling her agent at the time. “He was like, ‘No, Josh Hartnett did Halloween, and look what he’s doing now!’”

In the 2002 film, Banks played a producer tasked with documenting a group of teens inside killer Michael Myers’ childhood home. Her character was killed by Myers in the film, but the scene of her death was not in the film — just a shot of her body.

“So I was like, yeah, OK, this is going to do it for me,” Banks said. “Not only did it not do anything for me, they cut the damn death scene.”

Ultimately, Banks quipped to the outlet that she was “promised the career of Josh Hartnett, of an actor, and promised an iconic death scene that will last forever, and neither of them happened.”

She added, “So, I have beef with Halloween 8!”

Before landing the Halloween: Resurrection gig, Banks made her first major film appearances in 1995’s Higher Learning and 2000’s Coyote Ugly. She went on to make a name for herself on America’s Next Top Model, which she created and began hosting in 2003 until its 2018 finale.

She also later began hosting the talk show The Tyra Banks Show, which earned her two Daytime Emmy Awards, and appeared as a host of Dancing With the Stars from 2020 to 2022.

Now, Banks lives in Australia with her longtime partner, Louis Bélanger-Martin.

“So I have this ice cream company, SMiZE and Dream,” Banks shared on Today in 2025. “I’ve been going to Australia a lot because we were making a lot of our ice cream there in this big facility, doing our recipes.”

She continued, “I just fell in love with it. Every time I went back, and went back … and the three countries that eat the most ice cream: America, New Zealand and Australia. So I was like, ‘I’m happy here and they love to eat some ice cream, so, are we going to do this family?’ And we did.”
