Vanessa Minnillo's 2011 calendar just got a whole lot busier.
In addition to planning her upcoming wedding to Nick Lachey, Minnillo, 30, has been tapped to co-host the fifth season of ABC's Wipeout, the network confirmed late Thursday.
The popular game show — which premieres its fourth season June 23 — will debut Minnillo as its new co-host for the new winter season later this year. A former MTV VJ and Entertainment Tonight correspondent, Minnillo replaces longtime Wipeout co-host Jill Wagner. She will appear on the series alongside John Anderson and John Henson.
"We will miss Jill, but are thrilled to welcome Vanessa to the team and excited to bring her enthusiasm to the show," Wipeout's creator and executive producer Matt Kunitz tells Us Weekly in a statement. "She is a great host with a fun and natural energy that our viewers will love."
In her new role as co-host, Minnillo will cover play-by-play details of the competition between the show's 24 contestants as they progress through the world's largest extreme obstacle course.
