Darren Criss' rise to fame has been rather rapid, thanks to his scene-stealing role as Blaine Anderson on Glee. But in the February issue of Details, the 24-year-old admits he feels a bit out of place in Tinseltown.
"I never thought I would meet Mariah Carey, but I really never thought I'd be introduced to her by Whitney Houston," Criss says. "She's like, 'Hey, baby, this is Mariah.' I'm like, 'I know! I'm Darren. I don't know what I'm doing here.'"
Since his debut on the Fox hit in 2010, Criss landed a starring role on Broadway's How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and will next appear in the movie Imogen, opposite Kristen Wiig.
"Hollywood is a strange, strange thing," Criss tells Details. "I feel like I've been invited to a very exclusive ball and I'm just trying to make nice with everybody and hope that if they kick me out, they'll at least give me a ride home."
