Have we already met the new star of The Bachelor? According to an insider, the next man to dole out roses in Season 20 of the reality hit will be someone from Kaitlyn Bristowe's season of The Bachelorette.
"It will definitely be somebody from this season," a source confirms to Us Weekly.
One person who won't have the title? Andi Dorfman's Bachelorette winner (and now-ex-fiance), Josh Murray.
"It’s definitely not Josh Murray, as much as he wants it to be," the source adds. "He’s been pushing hard to be the next one. It’s not happening. He will never, ever be The Bachelor."
Software salesman Ben Higgins, 26, software sales executive Nick Viall, 34, and personal trainer Shawn Booth, 28, are all still in the running for Bristowe's final rose. All three men, plus several other of Bristowe's contenders would all make a good choice for The Bachelor for various reasons. Below, Us handicaps several of the top prospects.
Shawn
Shawn, who looks like a beautiful combination of Ryan Gosling and Calvin Harris, was a fan favorite from the beginning as well as a Kaitlyn favorite (hi, First Impression rose!). But he started to unravel with more than a little bit of jealousy once Nick came into the fold, which makes Us worried that he may not be cut out for this whole Bachelor/Bachelorette thing.
Ben H.
Ben H. is up for anything, a total sweetheart, and did we mention a regulation hottie? He’s got all the makings of the next Bachelor. But he totally broke our heart during last week's one-on-one when he told Kaitlyn his last breakup made him feel "unloveable." Is it possible that this season's Nice Guy could be too fragile to be The Bachelor?
Nick
Nick’s pre-Fantasy Suite romp with Kaitlyn was the heavy breathing heard ‘round the world, and judging by the Internet's reactions, he could be approaching Juan Pablo Galavis-levels of hatred by the majority of Bachelor Nation. But clearly, there’s something about Nick that made both Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn fall hard. Maybe it’s only a matter of time before America does too?
Chris "Cupcake" Strandberg, 28, dentist
Love him or hate him, you have to admit Cupcake had the most fun and memorable intro on this season of The Bachelorette — everyone's still calling him Cupcake, right? The dentist is totally charming, has a perfect smile, and scored the coveted first kiss from Kaitlyn. But his awkward mega-meltdown when Kaitlyn let him go was not exactly the graceful exit of a future Bachelor.
