Something to talk about indeed!
When CBS' daytime gabfest The Talk returns with new episodes in the fall, one panel mainstay will be noticeably absent: Cohost Sharon Osbourne.
Osbourne, 58, is sitting out the fall episodes in order to spend more time with her hubby, 62-year-old rocker Ozzy Osbourne.
"I've kept it no secret that I really miss my husband," Sharon tells AOLTV.com. "He'll have been on tour for 18 months by the time it's over. I've spent a lot of time away from him. He gets a break at the end of September and so I've asked [the show] for a little break so I can be with him."
Indicating that her leave is temporary, the cohost — who current serves as a judge on NBC's America's Got Talent — says she's leaving the door open for a possible return.
"I don't want to give [it] up. It's a great, great show. We've all worked really hard over the last year," she continued. "I'm not going to walk away from that. I just need some real good quality time to be with my hubby."
While Osbourne cites family reasons for her departure, a source tells Us Weekly tensions are running high on the set of the series, cohosted by Osbourne, Julie Chen, Holly Robinson Peete, Leah Remini and Sara Gilbert.
"The ladies feel like the show isn't what they signed up for," says the insider. "Everyone is miserable. They are unhappy working there and that's the real reason why Sharon is taking a break. I really don't think she'll come back."
Should Osbourne leave The Talk permanently, she'd be the second cohost since the show's fall 2010 debut to do so. Three months into the show, "Mom on the Street" correspondent Marissa Jaret Winokur parted ways with the cohosts to also focus on her family.
