Woman Breaks Down on ‘Long Lost Family’ After Learning the Stunning Reason Why Her Mom Placed Her for Adoption

She was always wanted! A woman breaks down in tears while reading a letter from her biological mom in Long Lost Family‘s Sunday, April 10, episode, as seen in Us Weekly‘s exclusive sneak peek.

Heidi, who struggles with feelings of rejection, is searching for her mother, who was just 13 when Heidi was conceived.

The TLC series’ footage shows the Idaho-based Heidi meeting cohost Chris Jacobs, who gives her a letter from her mom.

Heidi begins to tearfully read the letter, pausing briefly after her mom refers to herself in it as “Theresa.”

“My birth mom has a name,” Heidi exclaims. “She hasn’t had a name my whole life.”

When Jacobs points out that Heidi’s worst fear — being unwanted — was not actually true, as her mom was just too young to raise a child, Heidi replies, “It wasn’t! It’s an incredible feeling, just kind of feeling whole.”
