"I almost didn’t audition because I was so nervous,” newcomer Maddie Baillio (center) told Us of landing the part of Tracy Turnblad, her first-ever role, for NBC’s Hairspray Live! musical, alongside Harvey Fierstein (right), who plays her mother, Edna Turnblad.

"I just got off of Broadway, and just doing the first opening night was traumatizing to me,” Hudson, who plays Motormouth Maybelle, told Us. "So now I’m like, 'Are you crazy? Are you really going to do this on live television?' Because that feels like opening night happening on television."
