J.Brew admittedly “got a little irritated” when first moving into the Hunter Mountain house, as he was under the impression he was “moving into a house of people that lived the snowboard lifestyle.” Because of his strong love for the sport, he butted heads with one girl in particular: Alessandra. “I just wasn’t sure what she was doing there,” he told Us.
Connecticut-born Carissa felt that she “gypped herself” during her twenties by being completely focused on school work and her career, never letting herself “just live." Hunter Mountain gave her the opportunity to do just that. “I struggled between wanting to be free and the old me, that was serious,” she said. “It was a learning curve for me as a person.”
Even though she admittedly isn't “that great” of a snowboarder, she thought she’d learn as the show progressed. After getting injured early on, her time on the show leaned away from the mountain and more toward the romance. “I fell for a snowboarder,” she told Us. “It’s a rollercoaster of emotions when I find out that he may or may not have a girlfriend."
Another New Jersey-native, Marc couldn’t say no on the opportunity to go up to the mountain with eight strangers. “The lightbulb went on,” he said when he heard about the show. “They told me the two things I needed to do was party and snowboard … that’s exactly what I do.” He also said to expect both “love and lust” on the show.
Like Marc, TJ entered the house ready to party and snowboard; he actually clicked with J.Brew immediately, since they both were passionate about the sport. However, girls also became a top interest for TJ, even though he was in an open relationship at home. “I was having fun, 100 percent. I was never looking for anything serious,” he told Us.
