Who’s looking for a new bag? Whoa, okay, that’s a lot of raised hands. But that’s what we like to see! Not all bags last forever, and that’s not only due to construction and durability. Some bags go out of style, and sometimes even we grow out of our bags. It’s a sad yet common truth. That’s why we set out on the hunt for a bag that not only would physically withstand years of wear and tear, but withstand changing trends and personal styles too!
Our search led us to the Kate Spade Jackson Street Hayden Leather Satchel. In this case, the destination was far greater than the journey, but that made the journey that much more worth it. We couldn’t believe it was not only finally at the tips of our fingers, but on sale, too!

This bag is going to endure the test of time without question. We’ll explain why, but we want to relay what shoppers are saying first! One called their satchel “beautiful,” loving how the inside lining makes it easy to see and nab our belongings. Another called the bag “adorable,” also complimenting the lining along with the bag’s overall quality, loving the look and knowing it was made to last.
This satchel is made of supple black and beige contrasting leather. Kate Spade loves to embrace color, but the brand recognizes the timeless charm of a neutral bag. Plus. a neutral bag leaves us room to play with color throughout the rest of our look! That’s why this bag is a “wear-with-anything” accessory. No telling us twice! We love that we don’t have to scoop all of our belongings out of this purse into another just because of a change of scenery or outfit.
This bag has two top carry handles which we can rest chicly on our forearm or shoulder, or swing freely in our hand. If we’re looking for a completely hands-and-arms-free experience, all we have to do is clip on the removable cross-body strap. This cross-body strap is adjustable, too, so we can let the bag fall wherever makes us most comfortable.
The straps are black along with the side panels, which extend from the structured body of the bag to fit more goodies and everyday essentials. The front and back of this bag are the beige Ginger Tea shade, a creamy color that offsets the black beautifully. Subtly gleaming from between the straps is Kate Spade’s iconic logo, which matches the rest of the bag’s gold-tone hardware.
Also on top of the bag is the golden zipper, which keeps our belongings safe when we’re on the run. We’ve all had that moment where all of our stuff falls out of our purse in public, right? It’s not the most fun thing in the world, to say the least. Especially when 10 candy wrappers and about 60 quarters come crashing out. Yeah, we’ll definitely take the zipper.
Down at the bottom of the bag are protective metal feet, also in gold. These feet are perfect for when we need to place our bag down but don’t want to dirty and rough up the bottom. They also keep our bag standing tall instead of slouching and creasing. This feature is going to massively elongate the lifespan of our bag all the while making our life easier!
Inside of this bag, we immediately recognized Kate Spade’s signature bookstripe lining. We can also find an interior zip pocket as well as wall pockets for storage upon storage upon storage. No more fishing around for our keys or phone for 10 minutes! We also like that we can keep our lipstick tucked away in one small spot in case it decides to uncap and color on the walls a little like a four-year-old with too much sugar in their system.
We wish we had a time machine so we could high-five our future selves for still carrying this bag around in near-perfect condition. For now, though, we’ll just have to trust that we’ll look back and smile at the deal we got!
