Fall is officially here, and I’m much more interested in pumpkin pie than squeezing into a bodycon dress. Don’t get me wrong, I still want to show off my curves, but I’d rather not spend Thanksgiving dinner worrying about a tight waistband. That’s why I’m swapping my fitted dresses for flowy maxis styles that give me shape without sacrificing comfort.

Luckily, Amazon is full of pretty options that make the switch surprisingly chic. I found 17 flattering styles, including romantic florals, waist-defining wrap dresses, rich-mom maxis and casual everyday favorites. Whether I’m heading to a fall wedding or reaching for another slice of pie, these finds have me covered starting at just $20.

17 Loose Fall Maxis I’m Wearing Instead of Bodycon Styles

1. Our Favorite: I’d buy this rust-colored maxi dress for the gorgeous floral texture alone. The V-neckline, cinched waist and flowy skirt flatter my curves without clinging.

2. Date-Night Darling: This flowy printed maxi is exactly what I’d wear for a fall dinner date. I love how the waist defines my figure, while the thigh-high slit adds a little drama without sacrificing comfort.

3. Bohemian Beauty: I’d wear this sweet floral maxi for everything from apple picking to Sunday brunch. The fitted bodice balances the loose, flowy skirt beautifully.

4. Prairie Princess: I’d pair this tiered floral maxi with a suede shoulder bag for the sweetest fall look. The blouson sleeves add a romantic touch, while the stretchy waist keeps the fit comfortable.

5. Spotted Beauty: This leopard-print maxi is exactly how I’d make a statement without sacrificing comfort. The waist tie creates an hourglass shape, and the loose skirt doesn’t cling to my hips.

A guest wears shoulder-length blonde hair in loose waves with a center part, narrow rectangular sunglasses with thin gold frames and brown lenses, a thin gold necklace and a gold bracelet, a black leather clutch with a chunky silver chain strap, a sleeveless taupe wrap dress with a V-neck and tie waist finished with an asymmetrical handkerchief hem in a draped lightweight fabric, snake-print pointed-toe shoes, outside Lafayette 148, during New York Fashion Week, on September 11, 2025 in New York, New York.

6. Everyday Essential: I’m convinced this loose T-shirt maxi is the dress version of my favorite comfy tee. The relaxed A-line fit doesn’t cling, and the pockets make it even better.

7. Olive Obsession: I’m obsessed with the rich olive shade and romantic Swiss-dot texture of this fall maxi dress. I’d wear it with gold heels for a wedding or suede boots for Sunday brunch.

8. Anthropologie-Style: This romantic printed maxi looks like something I’d spot at Anthropologie for triple the price. I especially love the pink-and-gold florals and pretty tassel details.

9. Pretty Pastels: This watercolor floral maxi looks like something straight out of a designer boutique. I love the soft autumn colors and fluttery ruffled hem.

10. Eyelet Obsession: This short-sleeve maxi is proof that eyelet isn’t just for summer. I love the warm terracotta shade and waist-defining smocking for a feminine fall look.

11. Easy Breezy: I’d reach for this relaxed floral maxi on days when jeans sound miserable. The floaty fabric and roomy sleeves make getting dressed feel like a treat.

12. Gingham Girl: I’d wear this gingham maxi dress for everything from apple picking to weekend farmers’ markets. The stretchy smocked back and hidden pockets make it even sweeter.

13. Burgundy Moment: I’m obsessed with the rich wine color and delicate pink florals on this wrap-style maxi dress. The ruched waist highlights my curves, and the pockets are a sweet bonus.

14. Luxe Lace: I’d buy this long-sleeve maxi for the gorgeous lace-trimmed hem alone. The billowy sleeves and rich olive shade make it feel like a boutique find.

15. Statement Maker: I’m all for a dress that does the styling for me, and this bold floral maxi delivers. The oversized blooms make such a statement that I’d keep my accessories simple.

16. Flirty Favorite: I’m loving how this off-the-shoulder dress shows a little skin without feeling overly revealing. The rich burgundy shade and romantic ruffles make it a pretty pick for fall occasions.

17. Blushing Beauty: I’d pair this pink maxi dress with a cream cardigan and ballet flats for a sweet fall outfit. The smocked waist and airy sleeves give it a flattering, feminine shape.
