I have a complicated history with casual summer rompers. At 5’8″, most of them treat me like I’m auditioning for a beach volleyball team — I’m talking all leg, very little fabric and zero dignity when I bend over. As a shopping editor, it feels like I’ve tried every kind of romper, from the cute ones to very trendy brand.
I’ve sized up. I’ve sized down. I’ve stood in dressing room mirrors doing the ‘is this acceptable in public’ tug-test more times than I want to admit. But this army green, wide-leg romper under $50 changed all that.

Here’s the thing about being tall and trying to look polished in casual clothes: the margin for error is brutal. But this romper, somehow, gets the proportions right. The shorts hit at an actual, reasonable length. Not ‘scandalous denim cut-off’ or ‘trying too hard to be Coachella’ short. Just a relaxed, wide-leg cut that skims the thigh and somehow makes you look like you’ve got your life together, even if you absolutely do not.
The sleeveless cut shows off your shoulders without being a tank top situation. The waist sits where it should, and the wide-leg shorts give you that effortless, breezy silhouette that makes it look like you put thought into your outfit, when really you just pulled one thing over your head.
I’ve worn mine to a brunch where I needed to look pulled together but not ‘try-hard.’ I’ve also worn the romper to run errands with a straw tote and sunglasses, feeling vaguely like I was on vacation in my own zip code. I even packed it for a beach weekend and threw it over a swimsuit straight off the sand. The fabric is light and flowy in a way that actually skims rather than clings, which, if you know, you know.
Shoppers love all the same things I do about the summer style. “This romper is so adorable, comfortable and such a beautiful blue color,” said one shopper who was hesitant about rompers due to the bathroom “disrobe” ordeal. But with this one, they say they don’t even have to take the whole thing off! “This one is perfect because it’s loose enough that you can move it to the side,” they confessed.
